Half Life 2 RTX

With MFG x4, very impressed with how little latency hit there is considering the massively increased fps:

67ms is nasty :p

I keep getting the sound loop on the menu screen and It's unresponsive even though showing over 250 Fps. I had the same problem with Portal RTX and I've changed all my components since then. Bit weird and I don't see anyone reporting the same.

No doubt 30-40ms is the ideal spot with 15ms being the absolute best, you can notice the difference but after 5 minutes moving about etc. you become accustomed to the extra input lag, it's all about trade offs and what you value really, for myself, increased motion clarity and visual smoothness improvements on a 240hz oled screen outweighs the increased latency. There are some graphical artifacts, mainly with the UI but I only really notice them when actively looking for it.

I don't think reflex 2 is out yet still?

Looking forward to giving this a try; HL2 is one of my favourite games of all time. But I'm so hooked on Stardew Valley rn....

I tried 3x and 4x FG but it just feels off. I can't put my finger on why, but it just doesn't feel right.
Normal frame gen is fine though and everything looks great!!

Had a chance to put some proper time into the game and this is what I wanted and expected. Absolutely stunning looking especially with HDR. The atmosphere is still exactly what I remembered when I first played HL 2. The only time the game looks overly "bright" is when you are in any area with flood lights or/and a fire blazing, aside from then, the game is still mostly dark, so much that you need to use your flashlight in areas where there are no lights.

@TNA

How's your power consumption? +300 on core and +2000 on memory with 90% power limit and less than 300w (taken in the opening part):

Will try and check it out tonight :D

Thankfully I care only about quality and the efficiency of gaming without loud fan noises - Gone are the days of chasing 3d marks and fps numbers lol

I've managed to get the game working today, and its disgustingly bad with frame generation on. Anyone who claims they can't feel the high latency needs their head and eyes checked for brain damage!

Ray Tracing related graphics are nice, and overall performance is ok. I do find the overall image is a bit soft/blurry in the distance - things that are right up close look sharp and then it culls off and becomes vaseline; its quite an aggressive LOD. I wonder which setting in the developer menu will fix it?

Feels great here on the 5080 and a 240hz oled screen :)
