Half-Life 2 Single Player Mod - R & D

loved this, you dont get any weapons so if you're the short that just likes shooting people and hates puzzles, then you might be disapointed.
 
Downloading now. Ive played a few good single player mods. There was a great one that started off in a prison. Cant remember much more than that. It was very well made!

Was that Rock 24? I played that, it was excellent, loved the scene with the elevator.

This one is puzzles, something different alright.
 
Usually,
1. Download
2. Unzip to c:\program files\steam\steamapps\sourcemods directory
3. Restart steam.
4. Profit!

Unless the mod comes with an installer. Then its
1. Download
2. Run
3. ????
4. Profit!

Seems like an interesting mod, how hard are the puzzles on it? I do like the occasional puzzle game until it completely does my head in and I can't complete it :p
 
i dont think any of them i thought "i have to find the solution online for this". if you've played hl2/ep1/2, you'll kinda get the idea of what to do, and also how the physics works. failing that, just keep looking about for things.
 
I gave it a try today and wow, it's really impressive.

The puzzles are well thought out and there's far more action scenes in it than I was expecting.

Well worth checking out if you enjoy puzzle based games.
 
I gave this a go and thought it was really good... love the concept.

although im stuck :( im in a hallway with steam coming out of pipes... i have shot the first pieces of pipe to stop the steam but the final gust of steam i cant get past. theres a little valve you rotate that jets steam from the side of a large canister but doesnt seem to do nowt?

can anyone help?

p.s spolier tag it incase peeps dont wanna know how to do it.

Place one of the canister/pole things in the slot that's below the side jet on the large canister, then turn the valve. :)

Thats was simply awesome.

level design was amazing for a MOD. Gameplay was spot on and just shows how you dont need a gun to make FPS games interesting.

valve need to hire this guy.
