Half life 3 or episode 3

Just wondered if anyone had any info on the next installment tried to find somthing about it but with no joy.

Have enjoyed the story so far and cant wait to find out what happens next.

next year mhh strange though they said we going to make episodes and release them more frequently then releasing separate game

I'm eagerly anticipating the third part of the trilogy and especially looking forward to how the storyline will play out.

However, I get the feeling we still probably won't know much more about the Gman when Ep3 is finished if ever!

Do remember it was 6 years after Half Life 1 that Half Life 2 came out.. So more frequently to Valve could quite easily mean every 3 years instead

I was just thinking that.

3 should be good, how does everyone think it will play out? I personally think it will link in with the Portal game in some way, in which case, we get a new toy, the portal gun.

this is a killer franchise and valve know that...expect to see half life 6 and 7 etc in the future...difference with half life games compared to other sequels is that the half life series is GOOD!

I don't know if they will be able to keep interest that long, and Half-Life 7 would be like 20 - 30 years down the line judging by their current release rate. =|

The only good bit about the HL series so far has been CS, TF/TF2, Portal, NS, and generally everything except for HL :/

I'm probably alone on this one but I struggle to find the main games even slightly interesting, however the addons/mods/etc are outstanding.

I expect the last Half Life episode will be the larger of the three and it should be a good'n. I particularly liked the second, in fact, for me, the episodes are better than the main game, (Half Life 2). Though the first Half Life was great. The first one in line usually is the best.

I remember seeing tech demos a while ago, demonstrating multi-threaded stuff that had been (or will be) added to the source engine (vids showed falling rain etc).

I thought one of the 'big' things with the source engine was the upgradablility.... I hope the next episode actually uses some new features to spruce things up a bit

Although no new information was released before the close of 2008, Lombardi had stated that the distance between this release and the previous title, Episode Two, will be longer than the distances between Half-Life 2 to Episode One and Episode One to Episode Two.

I've purposely held off playing Episode 2 just to try and bridge the gap a little more.. I've got it downloading on steam now as i saw it for £8.99 and I swear it wasn't that cheap last week. Thought i'de replay through HL2 and Ep1 again and once again i've just been absolutely blown away. I still think the physics (Especially the body) of HL2 are better than anything currently out. Maybe not the most realistic, but IMO the best looking. I was going to download the FF mod untill i saw how effin large it was.
