Hi all. My pal just gave me this game to play and I know its ancient but I thought I would give it a blast. So I have installed it and when I went to play it The following message appears on screen "Your system only reported -2420.00k of physical memory Half life requires at least 16mb"

What do I need to do to be able to play this game? Im stumped as why it wont work cos my pc plays crysis and borderlands and plays them well, this game is years old. Any help out there????

If you have just installed it straight of the CD it's quite possible you will have to download update/patch ?

Apparently Valve released a fix through Steam for this issue.

Do you have an old disc that doesn't require activation through steam? If so, register.

Yea just thought about that now pal and your right. Thanks for the tip though. It played straight away when I switched it to XP service pack 2. Thanks again

Yea it was an old disk that dint require activation or the patch, it works fine now. Is it a good game?
If you didn't play it back in the day then it might not be the revelation you are probably expecting, but all gamers should play it at least once.

I would never play through it again now, but I am eager to see what the Black Mesa remake turns out like.
