Half life 2 issue

Hi I've just recently purchased this game to see what all the fuss was about but unfortunatly I have not been able to play it.

Every time I run it, it goes into 64bit mode and the graphics get all messed up. Happens as soon as the game is loaded.

I have an 8800gtx latest drives, vista 64, 4gb ram, (All in my sig)

First thing I would do is try some different drivers. Use DriverCleaner (not sure if it works in Vista...) to completely remove all trace of the current drivers - then load on some slightly older ones.

Do you have issues in any other games?

No it just appears to be that one.
