Half price frames me a curry.

Don't tempt me :o I love curry, but my Dad hates it including the smell so while I'm living here I only get a chance to have it when the house is empty. :(
So not a clue what good indian takeaways or restaurants are around here, have to track them down I think. :D

go to the places where you see asians eating, as the asians will only ever eat at a place that is good, ive found this to be true in every city ive been to

Round where I live, I'd be lucky to find any non white people let alone find them eating in the chosen takeaway I was looking at :p

Nope , not working , I still want a curry :(
If you have a Jalfrezi, it's only ~300kcal for the whole dish and minimal fat, IIRC they are about a third of the cals & fat than your normal curries! Taste good too!

Much to the astonishment of my secretary and my amusement, when I pointed out my Somerfield standard 450g Jalfrezi with Pilau rice had less calories and less fat than her 300g Weightwatchers shepherds pie or something :p

So much so she took my curry wrapper to her Weightwatchers meeting to show off 'her' new find :p

If you've introduced to your meat-pie, I owe you an obligatory:

HIGH FIVE!

chicken or lamb saag (or sagwala)
is kind of a dry dish, but not really at all.
has spinich in it. and is delicious. now I hate spinich, but saag is amazing.
that and some rice will be tip top.

loads of flavour. none of this "i must eat a hot curry" pap.

Damn you!

I fancied a curry so much, you've driven me to getting an ordered delivery. No idea whether or not it's going to be nice.

Chicken Dansak
Pilau Rice
Kema Nan
Sag Aloo

Dinner time :D

Ant

Another vote for kashmiri or biryani.

I wouldn’t be put off by the fact it looks like baby sick. You'll ether like it or you wont, looks shouldn’t come into it. Go out with some friends and try a little bit of everything they have. Don't buy one from the supermarket since their generally pretty poor.

Oh and most curries that contain coconut don't actually taste much like coconut. I hate coconut but I don't mind it in curries.

wtf?

you buy rice, normal or pilau, there is plenty of sauce to dip your naans and chapatis in. but to just buy sauce and dip? kinda ruins it dont you think ?

The "no rice" comes as advice from Asian friends, that most Asians only eat their curry with some sort of bread and rarely any rice; I also see many Asian people in local (Leeds Bradford) restaurants eating this way, so I assume the advice was correct.

Many white, Englishmen/women feel that they have to eat loads of rice with a curry, that's their prerogative and I wouldn't try to change that but I prefer not to fill up with rice.

I usually order several dishes between two or three people, that way, one gets to try more dishes and I don't end up eating the same dish, every time I go out.

Each to their own, I say but I believe that my way can broaden ones appreciation of Asian food and enhance the pleasure of the meal. :)

Wheeeey, damn right :D

Totally ignoring your nutritional requirements, Chicken Tikka Masala should be your first curry, with the mandatory rice, poppadoms and nalm bread. It is like the Big Mac of McDonalds, except it is nice! :p Lamb samosas and onion bhajis are a bonus!
