Half the memory

I'm new here so i apologise if this has already been up before or that its already around and i couldn't find it. Anyway....

I just had a PC built and ordered a 250GB hard drive but in 'My Computer' it says that it is only 127GB big. Does anyone know why this is happening or how i could fix it.

I've just saw a heading just for hard drives, sorry. I'll post this there if i can't find the answer and try to delete this one.
