Anyone used these? They OK? I'm always dubious with Halfrauds quality....but for £10 if they are decent, I am happy.

Can only find my ramps...axle stands appear to have gone missing and I need to get under the car this weekend to stick the Milltek on the Leon FR.

Thanks

Had mine for nearly 3 years now, been fine, but as said, I leave the trolley jack under the car too when its propped up, "just in case".

I too have some but I found they dont go high enough. Have some others that are much much stronger and higher.

Cant fault the jack I got from there though!

Got these too, and I'm not dead yet!

I like Halfords products though, especially the tools (the professional ones) and the axle stands to the job.

Draper ones in the same price range are meant to be better because they fold away after use and they have a wider area at the top that has a rubber pad for protection.

they'll be fine. i always leave a jack under another point of the car anyway just in case.

heh, back in the good old days, we'd say, "don't depend on a jack, be sure to use axle stands." NOW, using Halfords kit "don't depend on the axle stand, use a jack to be safe." :)

No, nothing has changed, I wouldn't "just" trust the jack, and the axle stands would most likely be fine, however as a course of prevention, its better for the car to fall on the jack (and possibly break it), than for it to land on me.

Good stuff then. Will pick a pair up this week.

Another one guilty of leaving the jack under there btw.

Thanks

I have the yellow ones from them, not sure what they are rated to, tonne or two, but they are perfectly fine provided you use them properly, left my car on them for a day or two in the past.

Im guilty of using the jack only if im doing something like changing brake discs or pads, if im going under the car for sustained periods of time then ill use a stand or two.

I've got a set of 2 tonne, and a set of 3 tonne ones.

My Prelude sat on one, the other, or both sets of these for anywhere up to ~6 months in total whilst I was rebuilding it.

Once my Anglia goes in the garage, they'll likely be stuck underneath that, too, for extended periods of time.

I certainly trust them :)

i can't stand working under axle stands, under ramps i am fine but axle stands just make me paranoid. The few times i have worked under i always have some wheels around for the car to land on if they break.

Its an axle stand ffs, a bit of welding and pipe, they probably all come out of the same factory in the far east and just get a different colour paint and sticker stuck on them.

ive spent hours under cars suspended on axle stands, i am confident enough in my own positioning of them etc that i wont be killing myself
