Does anyone have any experience with these? Really need one by tomorrow, but I don't want a tatty one.

It says it does a "random orbital" motion - does this means it moves up and down as well as spin?

Thanks

Silverline orange with some 3m pads, rocks, esp when you team it up with some Menzerna IP.

I bought one of those 240v polishers and came to the conclusion that its easier to do it by hand unless you have big areas to cover with no bumps or creases.

Messy too :(

So, I bought one to use with my SRP.

And...... what a bargain. The finish is absolutely incredible. After just one pass I have a finish better than 3 passes by hand (and a lot of elbow grease).

I would not trust this machine with any polish that cuts the paint, but this has worked SRP in beautifully. Might post pics soon.

Bad points:
1) Heavy
2) You'll need strong hands to do a big car

I will eventually get a Kestral kit with cutting polishes, but this makes applying SRP so, so much easier and gives a much better finish.

I just found the girls Halfrauds one made my hand hurt like a beach. i preffer to use my hand :P means you get right into the bits you want to.

Im sad too i buy all the expensive stuff and spend an entire day cleaning the car

Why is the BnQ one so much better? Is it harder to use seen as its a sander?

Its a dual action random orbital polisher which means it moves in a random direction at all times so you wont burn through the paint, and also it has a much more powerful and speed adjustable motor so you can put a bit of pressure down to get more cutting action from your polish to get a better effect without the pad slowing down or stopping spinning.

This thread is very good for the alternative random orbitals

Just a bump to say the Mac ones from B&Q are on clearance at £20, got one today.

Anyone got a link to some pads to use, there are so many to choose from! I dont want much of a cut at all

Seconded - i've just reserved one of these for collection tomorrow, so would also like to know what pads to get to use with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

Cheers,
Matt
