Was thinking of buy one of these, and wondered if anyone had used one before?

They're on offer atm.

Not after anything flash, as long as it's up to the job and doesn't damage the car.

It's only to transport the family bikes on the back of our Mondeo estate.

Cheers in advance

I had a halfords one from a friend never used it though, the webbing clamps were weak and the whole thing very poorly constructed, was no way putting my £600 bike on that thing. I would go for something more expensive like Saris Bones carrier.

I have one, but have only used it once - 380 mile round trip on motorways though.

It was fine for the entire journey which was mostly @90mph and didn't need adjusting or tightening. Once you get the hang of it, it only takes about 5 mins to strap on. I had extra straps but chose not to use them. the down side is that you can't open the boot while it's on there. If you can live with that, you probably don't need anything else.

For the money I might try one.

It wouldn't be used for travelling too far.

I need to use the mountain bike that my wife bought me for xmas 2007, I rode it home (from the in-laws) & put it in the shed. It's still in there lol
