Most impressed with this... snapped my 24" breaker bar yesterday, took it back to Halfords without any proof of purchase and they swapped it on the spot without quibbling. It was nigh on ten years old!

As you can see they've improved the design somewhat, the new one is much heftier and can't break in the same way.

Only downside is them not covering ratchet mechanisms. Means I've gotta buy a rebuild kit for my 9 month old 3/8" ratchet the keeps locking up on me

I can kind of understand them not covering the ratchet mechs though, they will naturally wear out over time anyway. Rebuild set is only about £4 too I think?

I had a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter snap, so I took it into Halfords to see if they would replace it.

Despite quite blatantly having "Halfords" stamped into it, and having both halves, they refused to do so without a receipt.

Granted, it was only half of a £9 set of two (the other being a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter), but that's not really the point!

Halfords warranty is good, I have turned up with a couple of broken sockets quite obviously not used for purpose and they have changed them no questions asked, although that's probably because the staff wouldn't have a clue what a damaged socket would look like abused or not.

The best for tool warranty though is snap-on its truly epic, your tools litterally last a lifetime no questions, my dad snapped a 30year old spanner he had from when he was a mechanic and rant it down to the local vendor who after phoning whoever he need to phone then dropped a new one round to my dad's site later that day. I also have a friend who is a lorry mechanic he says no one at his firm has had snap-on refuse a replacement.
