yes I know you all hate this game and think it's rubbish but I got a nice discount off it so I thought why not.

Anyway whenever I try to start it (as i do wish to get my moneys worth) it crashes to a blue screen and does a memory dump and when I boot into windows again I get this message:

"windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down"

and then when I click the details tab I get:

"Problem signature:

Please no comments about I shouldn't have bought it or it's crap.

thanks :)

Tried different graphics drivers, I got reboots on xp with certain gfx drivers, new drivers fixed it...
What kind of drivers are you using for vista atm?

the new beta 158.45's

There's been loadsa people saying it fixed lots of bugs for them but for me nothing

dreamscene still crashes and games are jumpy during cut scenes and loading vids, not that it's much of a problem but it's annoying.

What other vista drivers are there? I've only tried these so far.

Try any other driver version, like the newest official ones, perhaps it'll be better.

Have you installed any starforce drivers for any your games etc...

I started having crashing problems with dreamscene etc after i installed starforce drivers for my colin mcrae DIRT game...

Any big performance gain in XP comapred to vista?
Also how would halo2 run on a pD 3.9 ghz, 2gb ram, Geforce 6800GS ?
Trying to decide wether to buy it, and if I buy it, if to install on vista x64, or xp 32?

Well apparently it SHOULD run fine on something like that as it uses DX9 not 10.

I've just installed the 158.24's the official ones so I'll try these in a minute and if these don't work it'll have to be the 160's.

Thanks for your help and replys so far guys :)

i was having the exact same problems as you, i tried the latest nvidia drivers and the beta's but they didn't work, googled the 160's and it now works perfectly, seems like this is what you need Here!

Snowdog your system is about the same as ma other system I run a PD @ 3.8 and 2gb ram and XP x64 and vista x64 in dual boot and I use 2x 6800 GS in SLI (but that don t matter that i run 2 because the performance in vista with SLI is ****) so it s bout the same as u and it runs great in vista x64 I can run it near maxed out.

Use these drivers though coz they work well: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1659
