Halo 2 - Is it worth it?

I've played it, yet to complete it yet though, it's pretty good if you liked it on xbox but don't expect much more although it does look quite nice in HD and there's a built in map editor.

never liked the original so i would disagree. But a tenner isn't bad, so why not just take the plunge? might turn out to be something you love...

alternatively, read reviews and get enlightened as to if it's likely to be your cup of tea...

Probably worth it for a Tenner.

It's a bog standard first person shooter with lots of pretty colours, like some LSD inspired computer game. There's plenty of games out there that are far superior to it and then again there are plenty of games out that which are rubbish in comparison. The major problem with this game is the ending (mainly because it fails to do so), it just stops in the middle somewhere. The game is also quite short.

If you've played the first one and liked it then this will appeal to you as it's pretty much more of the same with brighter colours and dual-wielding (quite a difficult prospect at first with the mouse, in my opinion anyways). Nothing ground breaking or worth the fuss gathered around those four letters but again, for a tenner it is probably worth it.

it's horrendous.

I played co-op on the original, and loved it, so gave Halo 2 a try..

..and then stabbed myself in the eyes after seeing lower poly counts than Half Life 1, and textures like mud.

Terrible port - blighted by several mouse acceleration issues, a horrible 60 degree FoV and extremely strange performance hiccups.

Avoid.

i got it as i like keyboard and mouse and hadnt played halo 2,
was a good game.
well worth £10 multiplayer isnt to bad.

Well, I recently finished the first on my 360, and could not stand it, but am currently playing through 2 (on the 360 again) and am really enjoying it.

I am not sure if there are major differences between 360 and pc versions, but if you can get past the slightly dated graphics, its pretty fun. Am enjoying the campaign and the gameplay.

halo is naff, it feels all floaty and rubbish. Its probably okay if your a console kid and have yet to experience a proper fps But if your a harden pc gamer stay away from the halo ip

I have been a pc gamer exclusively until this year. And most of my gaming was first person shooters.

While the first halo was dire, the 2nd is good. Perhaps its a bad port on pc, but that does not make it bad.

first person shooters can be just as much fun on a console (once you get used to the controls), and the games aren't necessarily dumbed down.

Sure FPS games may handle a bit better on pc, but not to a degree that playing them on console isn't fun.

I am having more fun on my 360 than I have had on my pc for some time. So much so that I have not gamed on my pc at all for almost 2 months.

I just don't understand this blatant disliking of consoles, when there is little or no reason for it.

IMO it's not that, its just halo is carp

I think people who play the pc just tend to be a bit more competitive and think that controllers dont hone their mad skillz11!1!:D. Well that and they're annoyed that consoles tend to get a lot of big titles released on them before pc.

You can't seriously have played every other FPS on the market? There must be something left to play before you buy into the over rated, generic, bland world of Halo.

Some of these comments about Halo are totally pathetic, obviously haven't actually played the game properly :)

If its so crap, why is it one of the most popular games out there? And no its not due to hype

You either loaded the game up looking for problems, came to the franchise too late, died loads and was generally crap at the game

OR

didnt get the story because you bought the second in the trilogy then thought wtf is going on (its like watching LOTR:The two towers without watching the first movie then saying its crap)

So no, dont get Halo 2 for a tenner

The game is actually overhyped, overcommercialised rubbish that appeals mostly to the trigger happy, braindead mass that are generally attracted to consoles. No, not all people are braindead who use consoles, in fact a large part are quite brainalive - myself included. The story is fairly weak and the gameplay isn't that great either.
