halo 2 lan question

Hey all! Got a small lan coming up and was wondering if anyone knows if we can all install halo 2 off 1 disc to play via lan?

I know this isnt usually the case but am i right in thinking the online servers have been shut down now?

Or are there any work arounds that may work?

(Any other lan suggestions welcome, we usually just play css and cod 4 so something different would be nice maybe tf2)

Not 100% sure on the legality of this (mods please delete if not allowed), but i would imagine installing and using a nocd crack on each pc should do the trick. Just make sure its all uninstalled by everyone after, otherwise its definately not legal

Dont know the ins and outs of halo , but i would be surprised if you needed the online servers to host a LAN session

Halo 2 PC server support has been extended with no end date for now the servers are still online but the game uses it own MS DRM with an online check so you cannot legally play it unless you all buy a copy (its cheap enough!).
