I know Halo 2 PC specs aren't realeased yet but what do you think would be estimated requirement for the game?

I'm not on about the minimum requirements, I'm on about the specs of a PC that would be able to run the game with decent settings and such.

I'm a little concerned about whether my graphics card will be able to run Halo 2 that well. Seeing as Halo 2 PC is only for vista it is likely it will be using DX10 right?

I'm not sure if my graphics card can run DX10 or not. What do you think will be the specs that will run this game considering bungie are porting it this tme and not gearbox?

Thanks all.

No your card won't run DX10 ,,, since it's not a DX10 card, but I'm sure it will support DX9
Any thread asking for "will my system run this game" ... when it's hasn't been released is kinda daft, because it will always be speculation. ;)

I'm pretty sure halo 2 will be compatible with DX9 hardware (in-fact apparently it won't use any special features of DX10). I'd imagine it will need the DX10 software which can only be used in vista, though.

It is Vista only, but won't utilize DX10. Your card (computer in general) will run the game just fine, seeing as it's a port of an original Xbox game.

Why will Halo 2 for Windows Vista not support DX10?

Halo 2 will certainly support DX10 graphics cards but the game itself is not being re-written to specifcally take advantage of upcoming DX10 features. The more robust your graphics card, the more visual features and fidelity you will be able to enjoy.

I can't wait for this game. Halo PC with better graphics, good res and no pup-in textures thanks to the raptor.

Does look quite rubbish... and besides.. what PC FPS'er will be playing it with such good shooters coming out as UT and QW ?

I was looking forward to it but not any more. My PC is going. I am secretly hoping that Bungie will have a massive surprise with Halo 3 for Xbox 360 which will include native versions of Halo and Halo 2 as well. ;)

Guys, take it easy. They're still working on the shaders. If you look at the first batch of screenshots, they don't even have bumpmapping or parallax mapping. There's a reason why it isnt out yet, and won't be out for a while even when Vista finally hits home PCs.

It looks the same as halo 1 for the pc.

Ah, ok. Yeah, from that screenshot it looks like the Xbox 360 emulated Halo 2, halo 2 xbox with higher res. There are no graphics improvments to that build at all from what I can see.

Will it be possible to play the game in co-op mode over the internet?

Bungie will certainly add this feature. All gearbox could do was port it. Bungie an rebuild it for windows. It will include partys and invites so it will probably have online co-op.
