I picked a 360 up on Saturday (damn impulse buys) and wanted to have a crack on Halo 2.

Has anyone else found that it seems to run slower on the 360 than on the normal Xbox? I don't know if it's the game or the controller as when both controllers are connected, you cannot press up on the first player analogue controllers when using the menu, and in the game the masterchief walks like he's taking pigeon steps.

It's hard to explain...

I don't have any wired controllers, so i can't even check if it's something to do with the wireless..

Halo 2 runs a treat on mine - if anything, it seems to run faster and smoother than on the Xbox (although that could just be my imagination :D )

Am also using wireless controllers and have played multiplayer without problems

Have you got the updated over live.

It gives you AA on everything and general improvements for the 360. Might solve your problems. Ive been running it fine over 360, wireless.

My only problem is that the multiplayer wont work over VGA.

Thanks for the idea's!

I am currently running in PAL 60, I have updated the game via Xbox Live and downloaded all the map packs.

It's fine in single player, runs like a dream, but when connecting a second controller via wireless, the up button on the analogue part of the first players controller stops working, and as a result, master chief walks really slowly (almost like somebody is pushing down at the same time as pressing up). However, using the D-Pad (digital), works fine and master chief walks at full speed.

It is very strange. I've even googled to see if anyone else has had the same problem, but no luck.

I might get Game to swap out the controllers out to narrow it down.

on a separate note, I also bought COD2, is there anyway of making your player run, as walking around is far too slow...

You are running, remember all the kit your supposed to be carrying, plus every soldier wasnt a 100m sprinter ;)

Oh, i didn't realise :P
Used to playing games like doom, quake and halo, which are all quite fast paced.
I'll just have to get used to it ;p

I got this on friday happily playing along then today I connected to live and saw the update, so I download it and now the games all screwed up.

After a few mins play I got these 2 grey boxes appearing on the left hand-side of the screen, I turned it off as I had to go out anyway and now I just tried it again and it won't go past the final loading screen, it keeps saying there is a problem with the disc, which I checked and there's not a mark on it, that's one hell of an update

Mine crashed when it updated, and I had to turn the xbox off and on again.
I can't find the location of the downloaded files either so I can redownload it, as the original may have got corrupted :/

Well i went to Game last night and swapped out both controllers for two new ones.
Connected them both up, and Halo is now sweet as a nut, no slow walking and the up button on the analogue controller is working fine!!

Had a crack on COD2 and the characters seem to be moving quicker now aswell, maybe it was the same problem, but because I hadn't played COD2 previously, I didn't know how fast they were supposed to move :P

Also managed to pick up condemnded for £6 as I had money on my game points card that I didn't know about, woohoo!

If anyone wants to have a game at some point, my gamertag is amxor.

Also, does anyone know any other games (any genre) where you can play co-op (split screen) over xbox live like halo 2?
