MM servers afaik... But I assume it will just stop working not just the servers... Cant wait till I get home from work to get it downloading, might ring home and get someone to download it for me so its ready when i get in.

Not sure, there are central servers which control the matchmaking and gameplay though. Turn them off and you won't be able to connect to play any games.

split screen online yes. but the whole point of the beta is to test matchmaking so no offline play.
