Halo 3 custom match?

Greatly dissapointed in this game. Really can't believe the reviews it got. Childish monsters, poor weapons and bad storyline, not got many good things to say about it at this point. (This is the first Halo game I've played)

Anyway, my question is; When making a custom game, how on earth do I select how many players I want in my match? Surely there must be someway to play a custom match offline with bots?
 
No bots in halo. Have to deal with random mokeys online in matchmaking or the bigger monkeys in single player. I dont know how you can not have expected exactly what you got from this game. It has been out for nearly a year now and there are hundreds of reveiws from every other type of person out there, there's no way you can make an uninformed decision about purchasing this game. Where it really shines is with a group of friends in custom games in my opinion though.
 
To be honest I haven't read into that many reviews, wasn't interested in the gameplay etc before until I bought the console on Sunday. I just decided to buy Halo as I was buying the console. All I've heard past and present are positive opinions on the trilogy.

Of course all I've played so far is campaign mode.

I get 1 month free xbox live, does that begin when I first connect up?
 
Oh no I wasn't implying that you were going to kick the OPs ass. I just thought you would ask why he hated the game etc.

I mean I love the game and all but yeah COD4 wipes the floor with it.
 
Halo online is terrific, sadly the single player isn't all that but it sure is fun in co-op.

I havn't played to many games online which have surpassed Halo personally.
