Halo 3 NXE problem

I have the setting to load the disc straight away instead of going to the dashboard. When I switch it on the main Xbox live work fine, tells me I have x friends online etc. However, when I get to the Halo main screen it doesn't recognise that I'm signed in. So I can't go into matchmaking. If I go back to the dashboard and then play disc it works fine.

Anyone else get this?

Also anyone interested in getting the vidmaster annual achievement?

The only one you need help with is the 4 player co-op last level on legendary, finish the driving bit with all 4 of you on ghosts, with the iron skull switched on (which means if 1 of you die all of you go back to the last check point).
