Halo 3 to get 750 additional achievement points

I love a new rumour, especially the ones that carry so much substance that they appear to be true. This one is straight out of PAX and is to do with our beloved Halo franchise that the Xbox has become known for.

The rumour suggests that Bungie are planning to add an additional 30 achievements to Halo 3 totaling an additional 750 points, taking the game to 79 achievements worth 1750 points ... Wow, just wow!

The rumour comes from some ninjas at PAX who stealthed some pretty juicy photos of the achievement list and whacked them up on the internet for our sheer delight. It appears as if the list will be based on the Heroic, Legendary and rumoured Mythic packs. Of course, this is just a rumour at present but if the screens are anything to go by, expect this one to come a reality soon.

Good news is, that if this is indeed true, it paves the way for GTA's DLC and other great titles to get the same sort of treatment. More achievements for the great titles out there is NEVER a bad thing, so long as it doesn't get abused.

I would hazard a guess at multiplayer as they will come with the 3 map packs (250g extra each).
 
I thought they put a limit on extra achievements for DLC. Something like a max of 200 more.
 
Thought it was up to 250, as that is what ninja gaiden2 and crackdown got. Considering MS probably bent th rules for 250 per map pack to get even more interest in this, but considering even the ledgendary pack will be free soon i don't know how much they're bargaining on just the new mythic pack.
 
This will be awesome. I'm hoping for achievements that can be gained on any type of matchmaking though. *Hopes for achievements for 50k, 100k kills*

Also bungie said they had no timeframe of when they'll put out the legendary map pack for free (if at all) unlike with the heroic.
 
Saw these earlier - Should be good however its going to be painful seeing everyone scrambling for their achievements every match for a very long time now :(

I dont want to get into this, but in my opinion it had the best multiplayer experience by far - and I liked the campaign more than I did in 1 and especially 3. Just playing as the covenant and seeing the civil war was awesome.

Funny that isnt it :p Halo 2 was rushed and not polished yet Halo 3 wasn't rushed and they are 100% happy with it yet I enjoyed Halo 2 10x more then Halo 3.

But I'm not going to get into a whole debate over it simply because I cannot be arsed :)
