I don't mean halo wars or online only kinda thing :o

EDIT

doesnt work for me. opera tries to open it in wmp which cant connect, and in IE8 the page gives an error :(

I'm hoping for a journey home - bsg stylee - game now MC is stuck in deep space. They could even make it a little Metroidy in that he has to explore strange new planets while kicking arse.

Halo Reach isn't Halo 4. Halo 4 is supposed to be being done by Bungie. Not sure Reach will have Master Chief in it.

EDIT: Sorry - Halo 4 is being done by GEARBOX Studios, not Bungie. Reach is their last effort. Supposedly.

I'm not overly familiar on the fluff, but wasn't Reach the first planet that the covenant glassed?

Therefore aren't all signs pointing to this being a prequel back when there was several surviving spartans, rather than a sequel/conclusion to the series?

Sure. I meant a proper Halo 4 following directly from the end of 3. I'll be all over the prequel, but it strikes me that they have a good opportunity to try something new now master chief is a million light years from earth.

Gearbox is not doing halo 4 anymore, its now being developed by 343 industries which is MS internal studios headed by frank o'conner and also Ryan Payton.

No it wasn't the first.

Reach was one of the major and most important UNSC Headquarters and was the main supplier of both civilian and military spacecraft. Also it was the last major stronghold that humanity had left, their last defense to protect Earth.

But you're right the game is a prequel and will take place just before and during Halo 1, but instead of following Master Chief and the Pillar of Autumn to Halo Installation 04, it will show what happened back on Reach (well that is my best guess anyway).

Whops! I got completely muddled about what thread I was in and who I was quoting :D

I'm hoping that Halo 4 is saved for the next generation of consoles, perhaps as a launch titile, as I feel there's only so far they can go with this engine, and ODST and Reach will pretty much capitalise on that and another game would just feel too samey.

I'd love to see some truly epic sized battles, perhaps with an engine where there was massive skirmishes between groups of AI and you can weave through the middle of it doing what MC does best. I loved the sections in Halo 3 where the music drums up and you had a field of scarabs you had to take down.

tbh it wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped. it wasnt hundreds upon hundreds of baddies attacking you.... this generation (as said before) isn't the biggest leap compared to previous consoles.

well - at least the xbox wasn't anyway - the ps3 made a great leap but I think microsoft turned them into george of the jungle - i.e they took a big swing and microsoft came with scissors and cut the rope. Which is a shame really because if all the developers went straight ahead with the ps3 think of the amazing games we'd have had (if ps3 had the microsoft titles).

What are you jibbering on about? It's debatable which console has more power and both consoles had rushed components (tacking on any old GPU to the PS3 to desperately make up for the failed CPU/GPU hybrid cell operation). How would all the 360 titles be better on the PS3?

Gotta agree with this. The Master Chiefs story around this point doesn't have a great deal of action to it. I'm pretty sure you wont be him while playing Reach. More likely Kelly or Sam on Reach itself I'd have thought.

There were several Spartans on Reach during the attack, mainly protecting the power generators for the orbital super MAC guns.

Im guessing you'll play as one, or a few of these.

Sam was KIA 27 years before Reach was attacked so it's guaranteed he won't be in it ;)
