Halo CE - PC - Resolution

Hi,

cheers for looking, in need of a bit of help trying to get Halo CE look okay on a monitor.
The 1.8 patch added 1600x1200 but was supposed to allow greater than resolutions via change to the shortcut a-la:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -vidmode 1920,1080,60

But it still looks kind of naff, and I believe it still to be 1600x res.
Does anyone know of a way to force the resolution? Some sort of app that forces resolution?

I've been across a few google spots where folks ~ 2008 came up with an app to do just that but it does not seem to work, in fact crashed Halo CE.
Any help is much appreciated, the multiplayer in Halo is still pretty good!

Is there not config files in the directories to change the res, no?

.ini usually.
