Halo3 Beta dates

That's not very long at all and smack bang in the middle of exams. These events always seem to coincide with my exams

I know there's already a thread for it but I wanted a moan without spoiling all the "WOOOOOOHOOOOOO BEST FING EVAR!!!111!!" in that thread.

Well, the length would be fine if it wasn't during my exams

It was more of a moan about Betas being released around exam time all the time. Do you think it is done on purpose to limit the number of users?

I concur that isnt exactly very long, especially its time period is rather inconvenient.. lots of uni work due in that period..

Its right before my exams. Mine start on the 22nd, so I wont have barely any time to play it

I've not got exams but it seems scarily close to the Forza 2 release date.

Sucks for you all

, but all this beta is going to be testing is play lists, stat recording/matchmaking servers (even though they've got a brilliant one with Halo 2) and other minor things so it really doesnt need that long. They will have found most bugs by now I should think so all they are really doing is showing us what they've got so far and see if we agree or disagree, since they seem to be a lot more interested in customer feedback this time. I would rather have a 'short' beta rather then a long one since it means they can crack on with their final testing/tweaking and get the thing out to stores and into our homes quicker

Be grateful they let you play Halo 3 before it's released. I have an invite to the beta myself (woohoo!) and I'm fine with the three week period Bungie has alloted for it.

No that's absurd.

It won't be to limit the amount of users, or any thing as such. It will be though as what is convenient for them selves.

If it coincides with the exams, then don't play the beta.

tbh i am actually quite surprised it is only 3 weeks. I would expect it to only be a three week beta if it was close to going gold, but this early, i honestly thought it would be longer.

I'm sure Bungie will gather the required data and feedback it needs from just three weeks. Hell, everyone wishes it could be longer. I've a very slight hunch they might extend it, just to appease the fans.

I'm surprised it's as long. I would have expected it to last only a few days or a week at most. With the amount of people who will be playing it they will collect more than enough data in the first few days.

Personally I'm not going to bother playing it. It usually ruins the game for me when I actually get it when I've played the beta.

Sega did extend the PSU beta so anything's possible.

Personally I thought they would release the beta and close it nearer the release date of the actual game but as others have said, its not for our convenience its for Bungie's

That wasn't the point I'm focusing on, it was more of a passing comment that wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
