Halogen headlights or switch to LED/HID?

Am looking at the Philips Racing Vision GT200 H7 halogen lamps.

Are LEDs any good?

Also, with permanent DRLs, does this mean you burn through "performance" lamps quicker?

Or do I just get whatever from Halfords?

You might have issues with LEDs if your vehicle wasn't designed for them, even the ones with "compatibility" circuits.

Yes, I have read that the lamp design can cause issues with LED's.

Considering a HID conversion.
