oh hai,

I'm having some trouble in decision making right now and it will be appreciated if you lads can chip in.

I'm thinking to upgrade my GPU's to 2x 7990's or 2x 290x. I'm stuck on those two cards.

Due to this upgrade I will probably run into a cpu bottle neck so I will run into another 3 issues.

A. Upgrade to the AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 9590 and buy a new motherboard because my current motherboard fails to meet the required TDP.

B. Get a lower AMD CPU with a lower TDP requirement.

C. Jump ship to intel and buy a whole new board and processor which will probably stretch my budget.

Any other solutions are welcome. As you can tell by my specs in the sig I game at a big resolution, so my pc is in turbine mode.

I would swap over to intel if you are going with multi gpu as your gpu's would most likely be bottlenecked by the amd cpu. I would go with 2 x r9 290x as the performance on 2 of these wont be to far of 2x7990's. 2 gpu's recieve way better support than 4 so should be less problematic.

I personally would go for Intel and 2x 290X it will cost you more but I'm pretty sure it's well worth it, but I'm not a expert :)

Please if you want to go Intel and get 2 cards consider the gigabyte z87-OC board, this has really good spacing for dual GPU's where it uses slots 1 + 3. Most boards have no gap at all between the two cards!
