Hamilton set for Mercedes move

Ok ok I took the bait. It seems the BBC's expert on this is Eddie Jordan. That being said he usually has extremely reliable sources. After all he was right about Schumacher's comeback.

Here is the article on the BBC

I think that it will be good for him. Not necessarily saying that Mercedes will be quick, but I think a move will see Hamilton mature a lot as a driver.

 I am shocked by this. If true will be ruinous for him in my opinion. He almost self destructs with a good car, let alone a middleweight one!

Who would take his seat at Mclaren? Di-Resta?

EDIT: just read the article fully lol

This was definitely on the cards especially the way he behaved this weekend.

The real question is who is taking the McLaren seat if true????

Hopefully Kimi :)

Surely Di Resta would, especially if he can take his engine deal there as next year Mclaren will have to pay for their engines

If that turns out to be true that would be the big backwards step in his career! He wants to win races and championships and he’ll have a better chance doing that at McLaren rather than at Mercedes.

Paul Di Resta would be my choice to fill any seat at Mercedes.

You know what? I've just read the BBC article and as soon as I read "according to BBC F1 chief analyst Eddie Jordan" I thought oh know - here we go again.

But I must admit after reading the article it does make sense, especially when he says "his men" have met mercedes for talks.

I have a gut feeling that EJ could be bang on the money here and Lewis could indeed be driving for Mercedes next year! Now that would shake a few things up awesomely. :D

the other thing in this story which is new news (I dont believe its actually been mentioned on air at least) was that Di Resta has joined JB's management company (which would suit McLaren).

Im not sure it would be a good thing for LH to go to Mercedes but I can see it being a big possibility of it happening.
Mercedes wants a huge name driving for the team (and putting in the performances which MS is currently missing most of the time), they have money to burn and with Ross Brawn , Im sure they will come up with a more regular winning car in time , and they still have a huge German driver (in terms of "home" media driving for them also , so its win win from their point of view.

McLaren - I can see them being outwardly disappointed in losing LH, but internally not quite as bothered as they show the media. Given they have to start paying Mercedes for the engine next year , it may mean a little more going inot the design /engineering of the car instead of salary.

No-onw saw JB seeing off LH a few years ago :D
