Anyone seen this? Just finished watching it on Dave and found it very interesting.

"Richard Hammond talks to ex-Formula One racing driver Stirling Moss about their experiences in car accidents that left each of them with life-threatening brain injuries. They consider the different timescales that apply to recovering from head injuries as opposed to broken bones and the trauma as their bodies `re-booted', as well as expert medical insights into the science behind their eventual return to health"

Also talks about how smart a racing driver has to be to take in all the information at once whilst driving at high speed, well racing.

Also it shows Hammonds crash which i thought was never aired. I also for some reason, until today believed Hammonds crash was due to driver error when infact it was a blow out.

If anyone hasn't watched this yet, give it a watch! Im sure there will be some links to it somewhere. Might be on iPlayer.

It was shown on Top Gear on his comeback show.

I've seen the Moss programme, pretty interesting. Needs to be more motorsport documentaries on TV.

I'd recommend "Grand Prix: The Killer Years" and "Madness on Wheels: Rallying's Craziest Years" too if you haven't seen them, both BBC.

Yeah i have seen 'The Killer Years'. Dont think i have seen the rallying one though, will give it a watch later.

I work with people who have brain injuries, so you can guess why i found it interesting. Shame it didn't go deeper into how the brain works in these situations.

About the Hammond crash, i thought they decided not to show or mention anything about it on Topgear, due to Hammond not coming to terms with it at the time. Very unlucky to have the crash, but very lucky to survive it! Same with Mosses crash. He pulls out a completely bent steering wheel from his crash ,which shows the impact from his head on it. Amazes me how he isn't cabbaged or dead.

The human body/brain never fails to astonish me. (especially after watching the suicide twins video someone posted in the traffic cops thread)

I have seen this and it is a very good bit of television, i really like sterling moss.

another motorsport documentary which i thought was good was the one about James martin (the cheff) when he tried to race in the Mille Miglia. it captures that petrol head spirit, i hope he goes back and tries to complete it.
