Handbrake producing massive garbled files

Hi all

I've been using Handbrake to rip DVD content to MP4 files for a while. I've just got a couple of new DVDs for Christmas that I'm trying to rip, but when I do, it's producing massive files (over 1GB for a 20 minute episode) that is garbled. I haven't changed any of the default settings and I've tried removing, reinstalling and using Windows 8 too, all with the same effect.

Has anyone got any idea what could be going on?

you must have used something else to rip the DVD? are you sure those files play ok in a media player?

Use DVD Decrypter.

does that still work? i thought it was abandoned years ago. i use makemkv and i've used it on all films/tv boxsets i rip. you can deselect any video/subtitle/audio tracks you don't want before you even fire up handbrake.

It seems like MakeMKV is the way to go then convert to an MP4 in Handbrake. Many thanks.

Yes. DVD DRM hasn't changed.
