Saxo VTS with ABS, Needed an ABS Sensor for it's mot and parking brake efficiency.

Anyway new sensor in, and ABS light gone.

Tightened up the handbrake and now it locks the wheels and wheels are free when handbrake off however the handbrake light is constantly on, checked to see if lever makes contact with switch and it does and I've tested switch on multimeter works fine, checked brake fluid level and it's on at MAX.

What else could it be?

Thanks

You can bridge the handbrake and fluid level switches to ensure they are not the problem ~ otherwise there maybe a wiring fault.

I would also check the vehicle spec, does it have EBD or the Citroen equivalent?

If so, if it detects a fault it will switch on the handbrake warning light although it should be dimmer than the light for the handbrake and level switches.

I've bridged both of those and light still stays on, tested the wires going into the fluid level sensor and there is a voltage there, same with the switch.

Baffled.com!!

It is a simple circuit, when the switches are activated it will apply ground to the relevant pin in the control module. You either have a short circuit to ground before the switches or the EBD system is tripping the light.

Fixed it thanks, I removed the connector on the ABS pump to determine which ABS Sensor was duff, this connector 'Double Clicks' into place - I only clicked it once! so I've not connected it properley and everything works just fine!

I'm such an idiot and this mistake has cost me my morning!

Thanks Guys
