Hi

In your opinion what's the best 27" G-Sync monitor at the moment? I currently have a Samsung 23" monitor and want to upgrade to a screen that my 1080 ti will be more than happy with. I am prepared to wait 1 or 2 months if there's a screen worth waiting for. 32" is too big since I only sit 1ft away from the screen at the mo.

I did some searches and found the most popular monitor is the Acer XB271HU 1440p IPS 144Hz G-sync and ASUS PG279Q IPS 1440p

Yeah, I narrowed my list down to those 2 but really unsure which one is better. Is Acer support better than Asus? What are they like in terms of dead pixel warranty? I want my panel to be perfect and will return it if I find a dead pixel.

Not sure their policy really matters provided you return to retailer within 14 days, outside of that you'll be stuck with their policy - linked below

General feeling is that QC is poor and monitor purchase is essentially a lottery (particularly with IPS)... so you'll need a bit of luck and patience to get the perfect monitor.

ASUS are not well regarded for their after sales support :) not sure about Acer.

On another note, do you really sit with your face 1ft away from the screen? I'm using 32" and comfortably use it from 2' away - if you can change your seating or setup it may allow a wider selection.

If also considering TN panels not just IPS, the Dell S2716DG ought to be on the list. Gets very good mention on these and other forums, and Dell support is arguably second-to-none when it comes to monitors.

I was in the same boat and went for the acer as I couldn’t quite stretch to the asus.

The monitor has arrived and is awesome good picture quality no dead pixels, can’t really notice any bleed on the panel.

My only moan is it was a tight fit on my monitor arm, but I was never going to know this until I mounted it to the arm.

Thanks, I might go for the Acer and see how I get on. Can anyone recommend a good looking/practical monitor arm to replace the Acers'? The desk I have is not very deep and want to make the best use of any space that I have.

To be honest I would avoid an IPS based G Sync monitors. QC is abysmal on them, and since the panel is from the same manufacturer, it doesn't matter if you buy from Asus or Acer, you'll get your fair share of backlight bleed.

VA G-Sync is the way to go - they should start cropping up soon.

Yeah, I plan on buying end of March so hopefully 1 or 2 may be available? Which one's are worth looking out for?
