Hi all,
Part 1)
My friend has a Focus Mk2 (Pre Face lift 2006).
It has the weird CANBUS system connector (I don't know the real name so just made all of that up, it has the ZIF lever, I tried Googling a picture!) (the speaker half of the wiring pops out of the frame), not the old style ford connectors or an ISO connector.
To top it off, the handsfree kit came out of his previous car that was involved in an accident. I removed the kit from his old car, when I did no harnesses had been used and it had all been hardwired/soldered in so I just chopped it out.
Just for the cream on the cake it's a Nokia car kit but the external speaker output is then routed through part of a Parrot kit (certainly identical to the equipment that came with my CK3100) which mutes the car speakers and inserts the phone audio.
I figured out the ground, 12v and 12v switched and have succesfully powered the bluetooth kit and wired all of that in, retaining the original radio harness. The fuses that were already in the kit are 3A though, I think 1A would be safer? Do you agree? There is a 3A fuse on the 12v and 12v switched.
What I need to find out is the wiring scheme for the Focus speaker loom so that I can ensure the correct speakers are wired to the correct outputs on the radio. Which wires are paired with which others too! I also need the schematic for the Parrot speaker module, it's like a black oblong box about the length of a Biro and about 2-3cm wide.
Also, does anybody know the PIN out on the back of the radio so that I can hook the proper mute cable up from the Parrot kit? If not it's not the end of the world as it'll still operate fine just won't pause a CD or display "PHONE" on the head unit.
Part 2)
His car doesn't have an AUX socket in the glovebox but I seem to recall this is a cheap and easy retrofit. Any ideas?
Any input appreciated! Probably easier to buy a new kit but everybody likes a challenge!
