Hey guys,

I just received my screen and i have no idea how to mount this on the wall! my DIY is rather crap.

Here is the screw it came with

Do i drill one bit to the wall then right the other part into it?

Cheers

Well one bit with the metal splines does look like a type of rawplug. Personally I'm not sure on the design of that. I would be happier putting my own rawplugs in and being sure it won't come off the wall!

It will also depend on what type of wall you are putting it on. I presume just plaster over bricks rather than a stud wall.

That's called a Rawlbolt.

The bit with the nut on sticks out of the wall. The other end is the part that goes in to the hole in the wall. As you tighten the nut it pulls the rod through the cylinder and so spreads the splines. This anchors the fixing in to the wall. As long as the bricks and mortar are sound then it is a very secure fixing; more so than standard rawlplugs because the anchor mechanism opens wider and provides a much more effective grip.

Drill your hole(s) just large enough to fit the bolt snugly. Take the assembled rawlbolt and insert it in to the hole, spline end first. Put a little tension on the fixing by tightening the nut so that the bolt grips the hole. Remove the nut and washer. Fit your bracket over the threaded stud now sticking out of the wall. Refit the washer and nut. Tighten the nut with a spanner until the fixing is secure.
