I've got a wireless belkin modem router connected via an ethernet. DHCP is enabled and it just hangs on 'Acquring network address'. I plugged it in my laptop and it works fine. I noticed that IPv6 was installed on the machine that wasn't working. After playing around, I still cannot get it to pick up an IP address.

Apparently there's some sort of TCP/IP conflict when you have a particular combination of settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

It should be OK but then Belkins can be flakey. Is the router running the latest firmware?

Have you rebooted the router and tryed a reset on it and as Duke said a firmware update?

I've had this very issue with Linksys, Belkin, ASUS. MSI and D-Link, the only way i found to solve the problem was to set the wireless channel to channel 3, once i changed the channel to channel 3 all was fine, so try changing the wireless channel from the router settings.

BTW, this issue only occured on some systems that run Intel CPU's, on AMD systems all was fine, don't ask why

Hope this helps!
