hanging up my mouse, so long gamers

Don't worry, everyone burns out from time to time. Just take a break, and eventually something will drag you back (you'll see a kid playing a handheld game that grabs you, or you'll see an ad for a game in the street that just makes you stare, or you'll come in here just out of curiosity and see a screenshot that makes your mouth water...:D).

The worst thing you can do when you're not enjoying games is to keep playing until you "force" yourself to enjoy them - that's never gonna happen.

I had a slump of a couple months recently, what knocked me out of it was my restarting Bloodlines. My previous off-period lasted for almost a year, and then I discovered Severance. Before that I wasn't playing anything much for almost 2 years, and then someone reccomended Baldur's Gate 2 and I was hooked on it. And so it goes.

i have enough of gamming :( been gamming pretty much every night since q2 days and I just can't get into anything nowdays its a shame I thought my new 8800gt (@xmas) would help rekindle my love of games fps mostly but it hasn't . Might sell my rig and get a nice macbook air.

oh thanks for the good times and advice on pc gamming threads

peace out ! and enjoy your gaming !

Surely you've had a similar phase before? If not you're lucky :) I get the same thing sometimes, so I just go off PC games and play more console, or handheld, or read more, listen to more music, watch more movies, etc, etc.

Right now I could be on my PC playing games 24/7 - LOTR On-Line is taking up all my time, and I've got The Orange Box to start yet....and Forged Alliance, which I know will keep me totally hooked once I start. Good times for me as far as PC gaming goes :)

I got myself back into it by playing more addictive light hearted games like guitar hero, singstar and so on. try it

I think the 1 year I gave up computing altogether was the happiest so far. Unfortunately it didnt last and the games started to creeping back in :/

There was a time when I could not bring myself to play another FPS or RTS game. I simply wasn't enjoying them anymore and couldn’t get into them. So I tried different genres, such as point’n’click adventure games, Guitar Hero and even some retro games for the Speccy / Arcade emulators.

It was the breath of fresh air I desperately needed.

Since then I have thoroughly enjoyed HL2 Episode 1 and 2, Crysis (well, some of it), Quake 4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Dawn of War (to name a few).

Sometimes you just need to take a break. Perhaps not from gaming entirely, but definitely certain genres :)

I am too pretty much bored with gaming. Have been doing so since Pong, Games these days do not draw me like they used to. I mainly use my PC for media playback now. Bit of a waste as its a uber gaming kit! My son still plays COD4 and Crysis and Peggle on it though.

I find myself playing more and more XBLA games at the moment, i have a great gaming pc and i do play crysis every so often, but they never seem to hold my attention but i can sit and play rezHD all day :/

Haven't used my 360 in weeks. I play on SMG on the Wii every day, and the BF2 on the PC when I want a decent session, I just don't get the point of the 360, its basically just a noisey, underpowered, hard to control PC.

This is where i am at the moment. I've got a 7 week old 360 that never gets switched on. If i fancy a game i just double click my BF2 icon, No Extra noise, massive player count, massive server list, i get to pick which server for best ping & no other game even comes close to BF2 64 man Infantry only servers.
I will make an effort to get into the 360 & the games i have for it but being honest it's not looking good at all.
As far as the PC goes i will have a little blast about on COD4 but only for a few rounds. Any time i play anything else i just think to myself I could be playing BF2 IO so i do.

I find that I get bored faster than they make inovative games, the cure is differnt genres, try something you don't normally play live an RPG or RTS.

Also I assume you have played online and been in a clan, that is great fun. If you have been living under a rock and have missed WoW, give a MMO a go.

yer i thing its because i used to play in q2/q3 clan and then later guildwars but the people i played with have all disappered so It kinda of boring without the extra fun of clan /guild mates
