This happened to mine as well after about 3 years, it was out of warrenty, then a few weeks later the screen just died completely, I took the back off and couldnt see anything major wrong, I bought a new monitor in the end cause I think it was proper dead.

Cant really suggest anything to help you, I assume its on the way out. OCUK should do an RMA if its still within warrenty

If you go through Hanns-G they use Repair-Tech which are truly AWFUL good luck

Exactly the same happening to me, 3 years old and the exact same problem, i'm just looking whether its worth downsizing to a 24" monitor and get a slightly better spec or get a cheap 27" and have to drop a notch down in resolution *sigh* decisions decisions

Sorry to bounce this old thread but this is the closest I've got to a similar problem:

Recently I've noticed what looks like Interference Dash lines running down my screen when the background colour is a solid colour, its about every inch and noticeable when gaming if I look for it, it's certainly got worse in the past few months.

Here's what they look like but imagine the lines (1" apart) flashing and jumping up and down on the same vertical:

- - -
- - -

I've tried the following and none of them helped:
- Rolling back to older drivers (AMD GPU)
- Different HDMI Cable
- Different monitor (older Hanns-G 15" no issues)

Therefore it leads me to believe it's the Monitor at fault, I cant remember when I bought it (some years ago) so not worried about Warranty as that's passed, but I cannot afford a new Monitor so scared that this one is on the brink and about to die.

Is there anything I can do? anything I can try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

May be worth going to http://www.badcaps.net/forum/index.php and doing a search for HG281D. There are lots of posters there who've repaired their HG281D, so post and you may get help.

thanks for the link, I went and searched and come to the conclusion I'm better off buying a new one before this one goes bust (so better start saving!). Not confident enough to start ripping the back open and changing capacitors and all that :(
