Not heard of this brand before and such a low price for a 25" monitor is making me wary, however I've been looking for a new monitor and sorely tempted, has anyone got any opinions on it yet?

Received mine this morning.

Didn't realise how big this thing was going to be compared to my old 20" monitor.

Excellent picture quality and absolutely no dead pixels (something i was worried about).

Amazing value for money really.

Good to hear, considering getting one of these myself.

They were amazing value for money :D you dont realise how big the comparison from a 20" to a 25" is until you get it out the box :D

Does look like a great deal for a budget monitor to me, my brother has the 27.5" hansg and no complaints there. If crazy expensive features like IPS and LED dont interest you then you certainly cant go wrong with this.

My only gripe is with the lack of an HDMI output but thats no biggie.

I have heard many complains from users in the States that Hanns.G has terrible customer service. Has anybody dealt with them in the UK?

Was this recent experience? Apparently standards slipped a lot recently (as in, 2010) in the US but hopefully that's just over there. Maybe things have improved again anyway. Just towards the beginning of this year I was receiving lots of complaints about them.

Friend of mine back in march or april had to raise an rma with hanns.g, he said within 72 hours he got a refurbished monitor as a replacement. They collected his faulty unit and then 2 days after that he got another back.

Hey, can anyone tell me what resolutions this monitor supports from min to max, or is it static 1920x1080. And i notice the 27.5" version comes with inbuilt speakers, does this one also?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes it has built in speakers and even comes with a cable so that you can output the sound from your pc to the monitor itself.

It will obviously support all normal resolutions below 1920 x 1080.

Support, yes - but remember LCD pixels are a fixed size and shape. Consider the native resolution (1920x1080) optimal, anything with the same aspect ratio (16:9 - so 1600x900 for example) acceptable and anything else sub-par.

Really pleased with the quality. No dead pixels etc, nice finish, doesn't look cheap. You'll need to adjust the brightness/contrast etc as the standard, out of the box settings burn your face off!
