Hi chefs :p

As you may have seen in other threads all I have access to is a hob (with 2 rings :() and a microwave. This has done me 'ok' but it's starting to get annoying now.

I was looking into getting one of those halogen ovens, they are around £40-£60 depending on the model and they get raving reviews. Has anybody here got one or experienced one, are they actually as good as people say?

What can you actually cook in them I've seen people saying you can do cake and all sorts, basically you can cook exactly the same as you could in a normal oven?

What about if you bought some pre made food from the supermarket for example a lasagne that you can only do in an oven and not a microwave, could you just put it in the halogen oven (if it fits) in it's little plastic container and cook it just the same as normal?

I've got jamie olivers 30 minute meals cookbook and there are loads of things in there that I want to do, but you usually start out on the pan for a bit then finish off in the oven, which I don't have :(

All advice is appreciated.

P.S this is the one i've been lucking at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-Jame...r_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1317132841&sr=1-1 i'm not sure how big 12ltr is....is that massive :p? I am a singly. I want something that would cook a small/medium sized roast not something to feed a family of 10 :D

limited to what will fit though :P

i was actually genuinely intrested in buying one but even the18ltr mini oven would struggle to fit most of the store bought pizzas :(
