How exactly are 8 'server grade' cores better than 8 'desktop grade' cores?
Hint: They're not. In fact they're worse.
Don't have 8 server grade cores in ur PC tho![]()
Edit: Oh and my 2009 will haved 8Gb... 16gb is pushing it really...
My Mac Pro has 32GB, ha!
No - the Xeons in the Mac Pro are no different to the desktop Core2Quads. Its a con.Yes, hence the increased cost?
The fact they come from the better parts of the wafer? Etc?
I'd take a 4 core xeon over a 4 core C2D any day...

Since when did you have a Mac Pro?!
...with 32GB?![]()

If it's the 2008 model then I believe you have to use 800MHz memory. Mine is neither Corsair or Crucial, I sourced it from Germany.
I've not heard of any problems with memory failures and installation is easy. Have a look here for a good guide to installation, specifically what slots you should be using depending on how much memory you're adding.
I did, but if you only want 8Gb instead of 10Gb then you'd take out the stock and put two each of the new ones on each card.

Bet yours didn't cost £100 though
Got 10GB here as wellBet yours didn't cost £100 though
