Hi chaps

Can anyone recommend any dance / trance / house...that sort of stuff from the 80s and 90s? (I assume I've got those genres right!), probably what's called 'old skool' according to one of the Youtube vids!

Me and the missus have a lot of work to do today and proper blast from the past tunes would help us along the way!

I'm thinking things like...

The Beloved - Sweet Harmony

Opus III - It's a Fine Day

Utah Saints - Something Good

Urban Cookie Collective - Feels Like Heaven

Your recommendations will really help lift the spirits on a dreary busy Sunday and hopefully remind me of some bands that we've long forgotten about!

Thanks!

Cheers for the replies guys.

I hadn't heard ATB version of You're Not Alone before, just Olive's.

Ha ha, absolutely love Little Fluffy Clouds! :D I'll go and look for more of their stuff.

Keep 'em coming please!

Not really sure if 1999 is old school - at least not what I think of as old school. Good track all the same. :)

Here's some with more of an old school rather than trance feel - still what you're looking for, I think/hope.

Waterfall makes me happy. :)

And a bit of Altern8 for fun :)

Thanks for the posts, great stuff, we'll have a listen shortly! :D

Just remembered another two I'd forgotten about...

Snap - Exterminate (loved this one)

Inner City - Good Life

Renegade soundwave, Space gladiator phantom mix.

Moving up a couple of years, nicole, rock the house.

Proper oldschool house... both stand up today:o

There were some excellent tunes right at the end of the nineties and at the start of the noughties as well. A couple of my faves.

And this is a very recent Gareth Emery remix of Christine Novelli's Concrete Angels. However, I think it more than holds it own against top trance. You have to listen to the breakdown. It's immense!!!

Dance music in the 90's early 00's was the best. I remember watching Ibiza uncovered on Sky One a year before I went to Ibiza for the first time and the tunes being played on the show were awesome. I went in 1998. Went to the West end most nights and sat drinking in the Amsterdam Bar (probably called something else now) and they played the same 2 Cd's every night but always played an 808State tune of some sort. Not sure of the title though.
