I'm having a good day.

Also had a good day yesterday at work. Traditionally birthday is cake day. I always like to do something different so yesterday was pizza day. The look on peoples faces as I rocked in with eight large pizzas was pretty impressive. I've never seen the hordes descend on food so quickly!

Oh wow, you have a foster child, that's pretty amazing. Do you mind me asking, at what age was he when you adopted? Was the fostering process a difficult one? How long did it take?

He's not adopted, he's fostered. They're two different things. Technically the local authority is his parent because he can't go back home to live ever (for safeguarding reasons I can't put on here) he's 14 and will be staying with me until he leaves care. He has been in care just over a year now.

I didn't find it too difficult no, they go quite a bit into your history and run a bunch of checks on you, your family, heck they even contacted the one boyfriend I lived with (I've been single forever now for one reason or another) and got a statement from him.

I started the process at the end of September 2015 and I was officially approved in February this year. I finished working in April, and my foster son moved in at the beginning of May. I'll be taking in another young person at some point as well.

Shout if you want to ask anything else, it's definitely the hardest thing I've ever done, but am still very glad I did it. :)
