For some reason I'm reminded of Eddie Izzard explaining how the British Empire grew via the cunning use of flags.
One is synonymous with a **** up and a real good laugh with your pals. The other is synonymous with EDL marches and Carling. It frustrates me, as an Englishman, that there seems to be little coverage or "celebration" of this day in my own country. St Patrick's Day seems very popular etc

Mods can we please keep a lid on the idiots who'll use this thread to take yet another swipe at our own country? It would be nice just to have one thread where we can left in peace to celebrate without our resident commie brothers trashing it, they have other multiple threads to display their displeasure.
Happy St George's Day Everyone!

Because a large portion of this country hate the flag. Just look in the race threads they are discussing it now.
Yeah, there was some real grade 'A' nonsense in the other thread, that the flag itself is a source of hatredHate it? Really? Strong word. I don't hate it, I like it, but it's sad how it has come to represent racism for so many.

Anyway, happy to have day of overt patriotism. May try and fire up the BBQ and get some rib eyes done to celebrate my small plot of land. With Frank Turner playing, obviously.
