Does anyone have one of htese and can anyone recommend one to me, my main question is. Does it record things OTHER than freeview i want to be able to record channels of my sky box and watch them later when i am in.

Most just record the freeview digital stream, some can record from other sources but you'd have to leave sky on the correct channel.

TBH, you might as well just get a sky plus box, as far a I know they've scrapped the monthly change you just have to pay for the box.

I can't recommend one but if you search google for 'satelite PVR' there are some hits though they look to be ~ £180 + the cost of a HDD.

Almost every PVR or DVD & Hard drive recorder will have the ability to record from an external source.
So, all you would need to do is run a scart (for example) from your satellite box to the recorder (probably AV2)
But, like mentioned above, you will need to leave the satellite box on the correct channel if it's a timed recording.

Also, this thread should probably be in the Home Cinema & Hi Fi section should it not?
