Anybody know of any software I can use to make one hard-drive in my PC as a media server?

Basically want to store movie files on my pc and be able to watch them on my TV (LG 42LA620)

Would be happy if it's not even software but need to change network sharing somehow, but when ever I do it it appears to share my PC/users too.

Take a look at plex. I started using it the other day it lets you steam to some tv's, it works with my girlfriends Samsung smart TV and it streams to Android devices too.

Adds a nice interface to proceedings aswell.

Personally I use serviio.

I didn't get on with plex (samsung tv had a plex app) and the built in media sharing in windows x64 doesn't like mkv's for some reason, it's fine in x86.

Plex. Been using and tweaking it for nearly a month. Works perfectly, wired or wireless. Still having a small issue getting my Bravia to display movie thumbnails but the basics it does perfectly.
