Hard drive caddy fan?

Hi,

I have bought a hard drive caddy that i have put a hard drive in, the only problem is that it has a really loud fan built into the enclosure. If i disconnected this fan would the hard drive be ok?

What is the caddy made of, and what is the drive in question?

its a Aluminium enclosure, with a 400gb seagate barracuda inside.

I think it will be alright. The aluminum should help keep it cool.
