Hard drive causing overclock failure

Okay, I bought an external HDD caddy (SATA drive to USB) and moved one of my internal drives into it. Now, if the external drive is switched on when I start up, my overclock resets. What's going on?

Its possible you need more voltage through your southbridge, thats what controls your USB etc
