Hard Drive Coolers.

Bit noisy. A CM 4-in-1 module is a better design- single slow rpm 12cm fan, with airflow going straight into the case and pushed over the drives. If I had a midi tower with 5 x 5.25" I'd get one of them (Lian Li make something similar but unsure if they fit into standard cases, I think Thermaltake or Scythe too) and use the two remaining for optical drives.

You shouldn't need to buy SATA cables, you get some with a motherboard, at least with "Deluxe" versions you do. A few of the cheaper ones comes with the board and backplate only.

Too expensive. For the same number of hard drives/5.25" you'll need to spend £100, compared to £11 for the CM module. The CM module cools better too. Although that enclosure will be quieter, it won't cool as well.

It won't, it fits into 5.25" slots. However it has no front mesh/filter so it'll just suck in dust straight into the case. And being your case is midi tower I guess you can't afford to use 3 x 5.25" slots

Lian Li do something similar though.

That's why I chose the Stacker design (Thermtake Armour is similar) hard drives have plenty of airflow and you're not limited with the number of 5.25" bays/hd cooling. The usual midi tower have limited HD cooling and HD mountings

Look at the EX range.
