Hi all

I currently have 3 hard drives at the front of my PC case ( zalman z9 plus) with a 1 x corsair SP120 PWM fan

Now just wondered a few things.

1. I'm guessing as I have my hard drives at the front airflow is lower then it could be

2. my hard drives run at 30c each on idle. I have 2 x WD 1Tb black edition hard drives and 1 x 2TB WD Black edition hard drive. is this temperature ok for these

3. would I see any improvement if I bought a 140mm fan for the front rather then my sp120

I do really wish corsair did a SP140 PWM tho as I prefer to control all my fans via xpert fan 2 and thermal radar

any advice is appreciatted

1/. Yes
2/. Yes
3/. Yes

1 - You could move them around, maybe space them out to get the main airflow as unobstructed as possible.

2 - If you're happy with this, then they're fine. I'd be more concerned what they're like under load - Anything over about 45ºC would be concerning.

3 - Bigger fan moves more air at lower revs so will be quieter. Try a Noctua (NF-A14 or NF-A15, both in PWM) or a Blacknoise NB Blacksilent Pro (PK-3 or PK-PS). Both have reasonable Static Pressures quoted for 140mm.

Vartar Ek just about to release a 140mm pwm fan with extended pwm range so will run as low as 200 rpm. Gets great reviews

Hi thank you for your help

Yes currently I have the 2 x 1 tb hard drives under each other then iv left a space then I put the 2tb hard drive

problem I see at the bottom of my case at the front is where iv had to put the remaining cables coming form the PSU - which I hate but nowhere else to put them

yes I so wished corsair did a SP or A140 in PWM shame they don't

but il have a look at ur fan suggestions, as itsn ot like anybody is going to see it anyway so I just want the best for the airflow their

imk very cautious with temps that's why I want to get a bigger fan but I want the bets for the airflow as obviously the fornt is now restricted

I was thinking of getting a corsair AF140 quiet edition but their airflow is only 67.8cfm

my current SP120 does 62.74 so that's nota big jump
