Hey guys,

I recently switched my hard drives over to using AHCI mode on my PC. I have one hard drive that is mounted to a folder within my Program Files (x86) folder on my C drive. After the PC has been in sleep for a few minutes, I can wake it, and the hard drive still mounts in the folder.

However, if I wake the PC after it has been in sleep for 6 hours, like it has there, the hard drive no longer mounts, and I have to reboot the PC for it to reappear. Any idea what could be causing this to happen?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks. System spec in sig.

Two things helped me with a similar problem, not sure if either would apply for you...

Made sure that I updated with the latest 10 series Intel RST drivers AND that the controllers were actually using them (10.0.0.1046). Latest now is 10.1.0.1008

Applied hotfix...

Windows6.1-KB977178-v2-x64
Windows6.1-KB975599-x64

One of the above is for larger HD's not waking up after being in sleep mode and the other is for something similar, you can Google them etc to verify their needs for your situation.

For me S3 sleep works great with my SSD and 2TB HD. Before that it was really problematic.
