As much as i like computers etc. i don't know much about them =p
so heres my problem:

I have one main hard drive which has my main OS on it....
then I have another internal hard drive of the same capacity which is used for music movies etc.

My second hard drive use to be my original but i wiped it and formatted into ntfs (or what not)

anyways
on occasion when I try and access things, save, delete, right click etc. on the second hard drive everything freezes or become un-responsive.
So i have to improperly shut down my pc.

any ideas? or fixes?

edit.

Could it be anything to do with those little black pegs for changing master and slave drives because i cant remember if i changed them? i will have a look.

Typically your system would not recognise the drives at all if the master/slave was invalid, but you can always check your BIOS to be sure. Were there any manual adjustments made to the configuration (Tracks, Sectors, etc.)?

If you're using Vista, SP1 really helps with the Explorer problem.

Another thing to consider is that your secondary drive might be going into a low-power state and your PC might have to spin it up before it can be accessed.

How long have you waited for the system to respond?

I checked my bios all seems to be in order.

I am using vista SP1.
When I went about re formatting I just reformatted and put things onto it didn't do any further formatting. I haven't made any partitions etc.

Sometimes if i leave it 10mins or so it will start working other times it just doesn't work.

I hope that makes sense. I'm not great with computers when it comes to things like this.
