Hard drive query

Hi,

I am taking my hard drive from my pc, if i format it and take off the partition will i be able to use it in my mac G3? i.e if i format it on my pc, then plug it into mac, or can i just wack it in the mac now and then have an option to wipe it, also can i keep it partitioned? Or dont you partition on macs?

Just delete the partition/s in 'Disk Management' in XP and then chuck it in the MAC. And yes you can partition Hd's on MAC's.

will the file system format not be different?

Their will be no file system format if you delete the partition, the Hd will then be like the way it was when you first bought it!! Anyhow even with a FAT32/NTFS setup I’m pretty sure that a MAC will still physically detect the drive and allow you to format it.
